Many people find that informing themselves about their vestibular disorder helps them become better equipped to manage their symptoms and to communicate more effectively about their needs with family, friends, and health professionals.        Short publications: VEDA has dozens of explanatory documents on subjects such as BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo), vestibular neuritis and labyrinthitis, endolymphatic hydrops, Meniere's disease, diagnostic tests, symptom management, and treatments, including rehabilitation therapy, diet, and surgery.
       Books: VEDA has published comprehensive books on Meniere's disease and BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo), as well as a helpful overview for people with dizziness and balance disorders. Also available is a coil-bound book of personal stories and coping strategies.
       Videotape or DVD: Interviews with health professionals on symptom management, diagnosis and treatment, and the cognitive and psychological aspects of vestibular disorders are included in this videorecording, available on VHS or DVD.
       Newsletter: On the Level, VEDA's newsletter, provides information on topics such as diagnosis, treatment, coping strategies, and research news. Published quarterly for members, On the Level also includes a calendar of conferences and training opportunities for professionals, news about support groups around the United States and the world, announcements about ongoing clinical research projects seeking study participants, and more.
